Carole and I worked together at GV as colleagues in the President/Provost’s office. I am grateful that we shared a good working relationship but later became good friends. She was always a lady but had a wicked sense of humor thaWe shared our love of thrift shopping and each Monday we shared what we bought and determined who made the better buy. She

Carole was one of the first people at Grand View University to welcome me and assist me when I was named president there in 2000. She was a consummate professional. She was friendly and cordial to everyone who called or visited the president's office. She made things fun with her (sometime unanticipated) sense of humor. She also helped me get off to a great start when I was a young, new president. I valued her knowledge of the institution. Carole was great as Executive Assistant to the President, but she also cared deeply for the students and staff at Grand View. She befriended many and took several students "under her wing" to mentor and help them. I know Carole will be missed by her family and many friends. The University missed her after she retired. We all will miss her friendship.

Carole was a special friend socially and professionally. We were both employed at Grand View University. I was the Library Dir and Carole, the Presidents Executive Asst. We became good friends, one of our highlights was the trip to Brazil with students and the very knowledgable Professors who were our guides. I remember the students challenged Carole to dance on a table one eve when we were all at a night club. Carole was not one to turn down a challenge. She’ll be dancing with the Angels. She and I often enjoyed coffee at the local Panera on Saturday mornings. A good time to relax after our busy weeks. I have missed Carole for some time. I send my prayers for her family as I know she was an exceptional mother and grandmother and they are missing her. Sincerely, Sandy

My sympathy to Carole's family. Carole was a wonderful friend. I've known her since country school, and reconnected when I moved to Waukee 20 years ago. Shared dinners, plays, and enjoyed crossing off an item on Carole's bucket list at the Iowa Speedway. Carole was always very nice and friendly ... including in the beginning stages of Alzheimers when I visited her. She is missed.

With great sadness to hear Carole passed on. We had been friends for over 70 years. I will always think of her and have many many memories of our friendship and the sister I never had.

So sorry for your loss! But, finally she will be free of the years of suffering from this horrible condition. She is one of my last best friends to die……it makes me very sad.
