Carolyn K. (Muhlenbruck) Keller, 83, of Clarion, passed away on Monday, June 6,
2022 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 10, 2022 at
Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion with Pastor Cody Huber officiating. Out of respect
for recent COVID concerns, only graveside services will be held.
Memorials may be directed to Carolyn's family for the charity of their choosing.
Carolyn Kay, daughter of Clarence and Henrietta (Janssen) Muhlenbruck, was born
on September 1, 1938 in Hampton. Carolyn grew up on a farm outside of Latimer.
She attended school at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Latimer and graduated from
CAL Community School. Following high school, Carolyn attended nursing school in
Marshalltown. She came back to Clarion to work at the hospital and clinic.
On February 26, 1961, Carolyn was united in marriage to Dean Keller at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer. The couple made their home on the farm near
Clarion where they raised their three sons, Steven, Joseph, and Dale. Carolyn
was a big help to Dean on the farm and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Dean and Carolyn enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Florida or
Arizona for 20 years. She loved gardening, cross stitching, cooking, and playing
card games. Carolyn loved spending time with her family, especially her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carolyn attended Holmes Baptist Church in
rural Clarion.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Dean Keller; sons Joseph (Stacey) Keller and
Dale (Julie) Keller; daughter-in-law Donna Keller; grandchildren Joey (Candace),
Jon (Lynette), Waylon (Breanne), Jenna (Grant) Booth, Austin (Taylor) and
Ashley; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Harlan Muhlenbruck (Sheryl Watkins);
brother-in-law Don Pipho; and many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Henrietta; son Steven;
grandson Eddie; sister Marlene Pipho; and nephew Norman Pipho.
