Carroll Eide, 80, of Belmond passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his home. Funeral services for Carroll Eide will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 304 3rd Avenue Northeast in Belmond, with Pastor Dawn Pederson officiating. Burial will take place at Berlin – Jackson Township Cemetery in rural Owasa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane South in Belmond and continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Carroll LuVerne, son of LuVerne and Clarinda (Norem) Eide, was born on Novemeber 13, 1938 in rural Radcliffe. He grew up in the Radcliffe area and graduated from Radcliffe High School. After graduating, Carroll attended Upper Iowa University. On November 29, 1958, Carroll was united in marriage to Jean Nehring in Iowa Falls. The couple made their home in several Iowa communites before settling in Belmond in 1971. Carroll spent his winters in Arizona and always joked that God made Arizona for him. He also loved spending hours with his horses, who he doted on. He enjoyed going for coffee in the mornings at Subway with his buddies. Carroll will be remembered for loving to give out hugs, especially to his kids and grandkids, who were most important to him. Carroll is survived by his four children Kim (Jerry) Mitchell, Cherie (Tim) Peters, Kelly Eide, and Amie Carfrae; eight grandchildren Nick (Rachelle) Mitchell, Cody (Jess) Lowman, Sara Mitchell, Chad Lowman, Austin Eide, Jak Carfrae, Alexis Carfrae, and Max Carfrae; four great-grandchildren Brynn, Paige, Noah, and Emma; one brother Randy (Becky) Eide; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean and his parents.
