Obituary


Cecil Louise Larson, 96, of Kanawha passed away Thursday, July 19, 2001 at the Kanawha Community Home.

Cecil Louise, the daughter of Jackson and Mrytle (Parr) Wilkinson was born January 8, 1905 in Ellsworth, Illinois.  As a young girl of twelve she moved with her family to LuVerne, Iowa.  She was educated in the Ellsworth, Illinois school and LuVerne High School.

She was united in marriage to John Harold Larson of May 2, 1921, in Goldfield, Iowa.  The couple farmed for forty-six years on the same farm in the Kanawha area.

Cecil worked for eighteen years in a dry goods store in Kanawha.  She enjoyed bowling, her garden, flowers, and canning.

She was a member of the Kanawha Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1945.

Cecil is survived by daughter Virginia Christenson of Humboldt, son John and wife Margaret of Kanawha, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Pearl Wilkinson of Kanawha and Wilma Wilkinson of Ocean Side, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Gene and daughter-in-law Gladys, son-in-law Robert H. Christenson, grandson John, great-great granddaughter Hope, two brothers Ben and Burnham, two sisters, Mary and Velda two half sisters, two half brothers, and one foster brother.
