Obituary


Charles A. Hall, 83, passed away Thursday, November 19, 1992, at the Westview Care Center in Britt, Iowa.

Charles, the son of Roy and Ida (Westbrook) Hall, was born March 26, 1909 at Sangamon County, Illinois.  He received his education in the Sangamon County country schools.

On November 5, 1928, he was united in marriage with Lela Deihl at Taylorville, Illinois.  The couple farmed in the Morrisonville area until 1944, at that time they moved to Britt, Iowa area.  They farmed west of Britt for many years until retirement.  For a short time they operated a restaurant in Mason City area, but due to ill health they retired and moved back to Britt.  He was a resident of the Westview Care Center for seven years.

He was a member of the Britt Christian Reformed Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lela in 1982; three sisters; a brother; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter: Mary Rose and her husband, Ben Sweers of Britt, Iowa; a sister: Dorothy Stehman of Springfield, Illinois; a brother: Clarence and his wife, Pat of Decatur, Illinois; a special cousin: Julia ImMasche of Emoria, Kansas; six grandchildren: Phil and his wife, Robin Sweers of Kanawha, Iowa; Rebecca and her husband, Ronald Holten of Grandforks, North Dakota; Charles and his wife, Sharon Sweers of Britt; Janice Sweers of Kanawha, Iowa; Fred and his wife, Renee of Dension, Iowa; James Sweers of Britt, Iowa; and nine great-grandchildren.
