Charles Rubin Dayton Sr., 83, of Goldfield passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2006
at the USA Health Care Center in Clarion.
Charles Rubin Dayton, son of Harry and Vera Dayton was born April 3, 1923 in
Webster City, Iowa. Charles was raised and educated in Webster City.
After high school he joined the Army during WW II, serving in the European
Theatre.
On June 22, 1959 Charles was united in marriage to Lois J. Gates in Webster
City. To this union three children were born.
Charles enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, and going fishing at Lake Cornelia with
his family. He worked for Cashway Lumber in Webster City and Sadler Construction
as a carpenter in Eagle Grove until he retired.
He is survived by his son Charles Jr. and wife Becky of Webster City; daughter,
Tammy Ferry and her husband Patrick of Fort Dodge; son, Randy and his wife
Nocona of Urbandale; eight grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Vera; his wife Lois; and
one sister, Veda.
