Obituary
Charlotte M. Erickson, 85, of Phoenix, Arizona, and formerly of Belmond, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at the Palos Verde Senior Living in Phoenix.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 21, 2016 at the Belmond United Methodist Church in Belmond. Burial took place in the Belmond Cemetery.
Charlotte M. was born on May 27, 1931, to Charles and Geneva (Sanders) McPhetridge in Weldon, Iowa. She grew up in rural Weldon and graduated from LeRoy High School. After graduating high school, Charlotte attended Simpson College and received her bachelor’s degree in education. She later went on to Drake University and received her master’s degree in education.
Charlotte worked as the librarian at the Belmond High School for many years.
In 1962, Charlotte was united in marriage to Gerald Andrew of Indianola, IA. After his death in 1975, she later wed John Erickson of Mason City, IA, in 1982, who passed in 1997.
Charlotte enjoyed playing bridge, P.E.O activities, reading, travelling and anything chocolate.
