Claudia Petra (Hallwas) Conyers, 63, of Garner, Iowa passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life Service for Claudia Conyers will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM. The service will be held at Clear Lake Church of Christ, 2010 14th Ave North in Clear Lake, Iowa.
Claudia Petra, daughter of Guenter and Christa Hallwas, was born on September 7, 1954 in Bochum Werne, Germany. Claudia came to the United States with her family in 1957.She attended school in Spirit Lake, Iowa and after graduating, she went on to serve 6 years in the Army. After time served in the military, she went on to further her education and earned her Associates Degree at Minnesota West College. Job careers led her in many different directions from Pharmacy Technician to Flight Attendant with American West, all while raising 3 beautiful children.
In 2012, she began her courageous battle with cancer and continued to fight for almost 6 years. She fought hard every day and never gave up. With love from her family, strength from her friends and unwavering faith, she continued to fight until the very end.
She is survived by her son, Bernard Crawford Jr and wife Sarah of Ithaca, NY, her son Christopher Murray and girlfriend Whitney of Estherville, IA, and her daughter Shaunte and husband Ryan Brown of Garner, IA. Many grandkids that she adored Shay, Makayla, Jasmine, Bernard III, Tiana, Christopher Jr, Trey, Aleah, Kyen and Shia. Brother, Thomas Hallwas of Port Charlotte, FL, Sister, Ruby Whitney and husband Brian of Council Bluffs, IA and Best Friend Carol Coleman of Spirit Lake, IA.
Preceded in death by father Guenter Hallwas, mother Christa Hallwas and brother Bruce Hallwas.
