Cleo "Biz" Bisgrove, 84, of Clarion passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at the
Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA.
Funeral services for Cleo Bisgrove will be held Saturday, August 11, 2007 at
10:30am at the United Presbyterian Church in Clarion with Pastor Bill Kem
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.
Visitation will be Friday, August 10 from 5 to 7pm at the Ewing Dugger Helgeson
Funeral Home, 602 North Main St. Clarion, IA with a Masonic Service at 7pm.
Cleo James Bisgrove son of Floid and Estella (Bell) Bisgrove was born February
6, 1923 in Clarion, IA. Cleo was born and raised on a farm near Clarion,
graduating from Clarion High School. After high school he attended Texas A&M.
When he came home he worked at the Galt Bank.
On November 19, 1944 Biz was united in marriage to Wyladene Potter. The couple
settled and started farming. On December 31, 1958 their son Robert Dean was
born. Robert was tragically killed in a plane crash during a snow storm on
December 7, 1982.
Biz was very passionate and generous towards his family. He was out going,
friendly, very giving, meticulous and orderly. Biz enjoyed his community and
being a community leader.
Biz was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Masons & Shriners, Clarion
Elevator Board, Federal Land Board, Wright County REC Board, First National Bank
Board, and the Central Iowa Mutual Insurance Board.
He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Wyladene, one sister, Phyllis
Woodley of Clarion; and one sister-in-law, Norma Jeanne Newman and her husband
Dick of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Biz was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert; and one sister, Ila Mae
"Midge" Sebert.
