Colleen Jean (Peterson) Curley, 73, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on May 1, 2023 at Hancock County Health Systems. Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. Colleen was born on January 3, 1950 in Forest City, Iowa. Over the years Colleen worked a variety of jobs including Winnebago, Martins, Unicover, Red Rooster, Monfort, Stone's Restaurant and Mat's Place. Colleen, also known as "Cool Granny", enjoyed spending time with her husband, two kids, seven grandkids and many friends.  She also enjoyed playing Skip-Bo, 500 and other card games. She loved watching old Western shows and movies, The Voice and Survivor. On April 20, 1991 Colleen married the love of her life, Rob Curley.  Over the years they made their home in Mason City and Marshalltown. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Sally.  She is survived by her husband of 32 years Robin Curley; daughter Angie Knowles; son Rod (Sheila) Hoveland; her grandchildren Mitchell, Jacob, Jordan, Ethan, Mason, Kaitlyn, and Emma; her faithful dog Saybar and her sister and two brothers.
