Connie J. Eckhoff, 82, of Belmond, passed away September 30, 2015 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Connie, daughter of Marvin and Dora Buchanan Sjoberg, was born on March 8, 1933 in Iowa City. She attended and graduated from high school. Connie was a stay at home mom. After her children were old enough to go to school, she took a housekeeping job at the hospital for a short time. She was united in marriage to Stewart Eckhoff on August 18, 1950 in Belmond. They resided on a farm after their marriage and moved to Belmond in 1966. The couple was blessed with three sons: Bob, Larry, and Steven. Connie enjoyed traveling to South Dakota and the East Coast to visit family. She loved to listen to her police scanner and read. Connie is survived by her two sons Bob (Teri) Eckhoff of Belmond and Larry (Joann) Eckhoff of Belmond; four grandchildren Shane (Julia) Eckhoff, Jamie (Jaci) Eckhoff, Tena Eckhoff, Ashley Eckhoff; five great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law Richard (Bonnie) Eckhoff. She is preceded in death by her husband Stewart, parents, son Steven, and brother Don.
