Obituary
Cordelia Alice Nielsen, 85, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 1998, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Cordelia, the daughter of Henry and Julianne (Wegner) Ristau, was born September 13, 1912, at LuVerne, Iowa. She graduated from LuVerne High School and Cedar Falls Teacher's College, receiving her teaching certificate in 1931. Cordelia taught in the rural schools near LuVerne and was very active in 4-H.
She was united in marriage with Albert Nielsen on November 26, 1932, in Canton, South Dakota. The couple made their home in LuVerne, where they farmed until 1953. They then moved to a farm south of Hutchins where they farmed until 1980, when they retired and moved into Britt.
Cordelia is survived by her sons: Jerry and his wife, Joan of Wesley; James and his wife, Joyce of Aurora, IL; Dale and his wife, Jane of Britt; Ronald and his wife, Jan of San Diego, CA; and Roger and his wife, Beverly of Britt; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law: Martha Ristau of Algona, IA, Marie Jackson of LuVerne, IA; Helen Nielsen of LuVerne, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters.
