Corey V. Putney, 36 of Clarion, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. A visitation for Corey Putney will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home in Clarion, 1801 Central Avenue East. Corey Vinton Putney, the son of Roxanne Putney, was born December 13, 1984 in Iowa City, Iowa. Corey grew up in Clarion and was a lifelong resident. Corey obtained his G.E.D and other college courses from Iowa Central Community College. He worked at Custom Meats and later at Prestage Foods. He was known to be a very down to earth guy who enjoyed playing basketball, video games and loved dogs. He was a loyal Iowa Hawkeye and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. He loved his daughter, Baylee, most of all and was a very involved father. Corey is survived by his daughter, Baylee Putney of Webster City; mother Roxanne Putney of Clarion; brother Jacob Putney of Goldfield; maternal grandparents Vince and Virginia Putney of Newnan, Georgia along with extended family and friends.
