Cory Shields

Cory Dean Shields, 23, of Britt, passed away Friday, January 21, 2005, at his home near Britt.

Cory Dean Shields, the son of Jeff and Debbie Shields, was born December 23, 1981, in Creston, Iowa.  The family moved to Britt in 1990.  Cory attended West Hancock High School where he was active in golf, wrestling and baseball.  He graduated from West Hancock with the class of 2000.  Following graduation Cory was employed by Prairie States Management Company as a manager of swine production.

Cory enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, spending time with Megan and his friends and talking on the phone with his sister Morgan.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt.

Cory is survived by his parents Jeff and Debbie Shields of Britt; a sister Morgan Shields of Mason City; a very special friend Megan Eno of Mason City and her parents Jack and Cheryl Eno of Sheffield; grandparents: Harvey and Dorothy Shields of Thayer, Iowa and Orlin and Angie Berger of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Great-grandmothers: Florence Mosman of Creston and Mrs. Henry Dovark of Grafton, North Dakota; aunts and uncles: Jon Shields of Lorimor, Julie and Gary McFarling of Clive, Sandy and Steven Sand of Emerado, North Dakota; twelve cousins: Shannon Sobek, Brook Sobek, Mackenzie Sobek, Paige McFarling, Amber Shields, Shane Sand, Shannon Sand, Nathan Berger, Lindsey Berger, Meredith Berger, Eric Berger, and Brandon Berger and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents Chester Mosman, Lucille Shields, Ingvald and Pearl Berger, Steve Rudnik, Sr., Henry Dovark, and a cousin Ryan Shields.
