Craig passed away peacefully on October 31, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Born on April 29, 1959 in Iowa Falls, IA, he was raised in Clarion, IA, by adoptive parents Bernard and Marjorie Roskamp.  After graduating from Clarion High School, he enlisted in the Army. After discharge from the service, he spent numerous years in Phoenix, AZ, before returning to Iowa and settling in the Des Moines area. Craig was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Roskamp. He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Roskamp of Clarion, IA; sister Loris and husband Byron Vogt of Omaha, NE; brother Gordon Roskamp and wife Michelle Sommer of Adel, IA; sister Lenore and husband David Rodgers of Reno, NV; sister Gloria and husband David Hansen of Jefferson City, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. After a 10:30am memorial service at Cottage Grove Church, 1050 24th Street, Des Moines, IA, on November 18, Craig will be laid to rest next to his parents' plot at the Wright Christian Reformed Church, Kanawha, IA. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, the Des Moines Rehabilitation Center, Powell Oncology department, Harmony Nursing Home, and Suncrest Hospice for the care and attention given to Craig.
