Obituary


Curtis Ernest Jumpp, 81, passed away Friday, May 14, 1999, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.

Curtis, the son of Curtis E. and Mary (Koontz) Jumpp, was born December 7, 1917 at Indianapolis, Indiana.  Curtis graduated from high school in Indianapolis and then worked for a short time before entering the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII.  Upon returning home, Curtis was united in marriage with Nodia Anderson on August 24, 1943, in Clinton, Iowa.  Following the was, Curtis was employed at a creamery in Walker, Iowa.  In 1949, the family moved to Crystal Lake where he was employed at the Farmers Bank and Trust Company.  In 1982, he retired from the Manufactures Bank and Trust.

Curtis was an avid fisherman.  He also enjoyed traveling and learning the history of our country.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Shriners.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Nodia; his daughter, Paula and her husband, Dwayne Streeter of Carmel, Indiana; a grandson, Chad; two sisters-in-law, Beulah Jumpp and Hazel Jumpp Corwin borth of Indianapolis, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Hershel, Robert and Donald, and one sister, Gertrude.
