Obituary
Curtis J. Poncin, 76, of Clarion passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011, at University Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral services for Curtis Poncin will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011, at 10:30 AM at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 121 Third Avenue North West, in Clarion with Pastor Bill Kem and Mister Stan Watne officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Curtis was born on April 15, 1935, in Clarion to Charles and Theresa (McCormick) Poncin. He graduated from Clarion High School in 1954 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from the service, he farmed in the Clarion area.
Curtis is survived by his sister, Beverly Poncin of Windsor Heights; brother, Nathan (Jessie) Poncin of Galt; nephews, Ronald Poncin of Arizona, David Poncin of Eagle Grove and Kevin Poncin of Arizona; niece, Natalie Thompson of Michigan and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
