Obituary
Dale R. Swaney, 74, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 1993 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City.
Dale, the son of Raymond B. and Anna Mae Townsend Swaney, was born January 3, 1919 on a farm near Britt, Iowa. He attended and graduated from the Britt Schools.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In 1942 he was untied in marriage with Rose Mary Seiler in Bastrop, Texas. Following his discharge the couple moved back to Britt and farmed in the area. In 1965 they moved into town. He worked at the Elevator in Hutchins for several years and at Martings until 1983 when he retired.
He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Britt American Legion Post 315.
He is survived by his wife, Rose M. of Britt, Iowa; three sons: Frank and his wife, Ginger of Hampton, Iowa, Larry and his wife, Nancy of North Liberty, Iowa, and Ron and his wife, Becky of Marshall, Michigan; a daughter, Sandy Malek of Eagle Grove, Iowa; and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Brown.
