Dan L. Ott, 68, of Clarion passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Fort Dodge
Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Dodge.
Funeral services for Dan Ott will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 6,
2021, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor
Bill Kem officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home
prior to the funeral service.

Dan, the son of LaVerne and Mildred (Cramer) Ott, was born on May 3, 1953 in
Clarion, Iowa. Dan grew up in Clarion and graduated with the Clarion High
School class of 1971. He continued his education in Des Moines with a degree in
automotive technologies.
After school, Dan moved back to Clarion and worked at Palco Manufacturing before
starting his career with the Wright County Communications office. He eventually
became the supervising dispatch officer for the county before retiring in 2015.
Dan enjoyed attending Clarion sporting events and was a member of the
Sideliners. He also enjoyed drag racing in Humboldt, the Iowa Hawkeyes, riding
motorcycles and his annual hunting trip with his family.
He is survived by his brother Robert (Kim) Ott of Clarion; sister Linda
McCormick of Clarion; nephews Pat (Nikki Middleton) McCormick and children and
Jimmy (Beth) Ott and children; nieces Katie McCormick and her son and Jerri
(Lance Gobeli) and children along with extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Scott McCormick, and
great niece Payton Millie Ott.
