Daniel Perkins

Daniel Perkins, 62, of Britt, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.

Memorial Service for Daniel Perkins will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt with Pastor Jon Rollefson officiating. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 4:00 –6:00 PM and one hour prior to services on Thursday at Ewing Funeral Chapel.

Daniel (Danny) Dean Perkins was born November 5, 1959 to Marvin and Carol (Marth) Perkins in Lompoc, California.

Danny grew up in California, Corwith, Britt and Forest City, Iowa. His main occupation was construction but had a passion for welding especially red steel.  However health issues forced him to stop construction in 1997.

He was blessed with his daughter, Delya Perkins Kofstad on November 6, 1979. He married Esther DeVries on September 3, 1988 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City.

Danny had a wonderful sense of humor, no one was a stranger for long.  He would help anyone if he could, loved riding his Harley and spending time with his pal Shyloh and his family.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Esther; daughter Delya (Steve) Kofstad; grandchildren Hailey (Jake), Thomas, Nick and Emily; great grandchildren William, Hazelea and Leighton; sister DeAnna; brother David; special uncle Bobby; sisters-in-law Joyce (Steve) and Barb (Ed); parents-in-law Ed and Rose along with many nieces and nephews.
