Darlene Mary Dunbar

Darlene Dunbar, 76, of Mason City, formerly of Britt passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services for Darlene Dunbar will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt with Pastor Robert Dodge officiating. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt and continue one hour prior to services on Saturday. 

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Darlene the daughter of Clarence and Leona (Monson) Weiland was born September 2, 1936 in Wesley. She attended school in Britt and graduated from Britt High School. Following graduation, Darlene was employed at the Tip Top Café in Britt.

Darlene was united in marriage with Jim Dunbar in Britt. The couple made their home in Hubbard and were blessed with two daughters.

Darlene was employed for many years at a dress shop in Clear Lake and later made her home in Mason City.

Darlene is survived by her daughters: Mari Lynn Marquard of Houston, Texas and Kari Rae Dunbar of Garner; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Imogene (John) Burgardt of Britt, Lois (Charles) Conaway of Britt, Diane (Roger) McKinney of Queen Creek, Arizona; brothers: Clarence (Bernice) Weiland of Storm Lake, and Don (Darlene) Weiland of Britt; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Larry and Dean.
