Obituary


David A. Day, 69, of Clarion passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at his home in Clarion.

Memorial services for David Day will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Clarion Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene, 1010 Second Street South West, in Clarion with Pastor Dana Wendel officiating.

David Alan, son of Ethan and Celia (Harris) Day, was born on October 17, 1950 in Plainview, Minnesota. David grew up in the Clarion area. He attended school in Clarion until he joined the Army. David served in the Army for eight years and was stationed in Panama.

After David was discharged from the Army, he worked on the railroad for a short time before working and drove bus for Mosaic. David later was a bus driver for Jefferson Bus Lines until he retired in 2005. David loved to watch westerns and NASCAR on TV and enjoyed fishing.

On September 10, 1997, David was united in marriage to Mary Mason in Mesa, Arizona. They made their home in Phoenix for a year before moving to Oklahoma. David moved back to Clarion in July.

David is survived by his best friend and former wife Mary Day of Webster City; four siblings Janet Neese of Clarion, Richard Day of Clarion, Betty (Bob) Schaffer of Clarion, and Gary (Candy) Day of Ames; numerous nieces and nephews; special niece Debbie Webber; Mary’s two sons Larry Long and William Mason, 10 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter; and dog Curly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim Day; and brother-in-law Harold Neese.
