David Johnson, 63, of Belmond passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at
MercyOne North Iowa in Mason City.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St.
Olaf Lutheran Church, 2211 130th Street rural Belmond, with Pastor Jim
Gochenouer officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
David Harris, son of Harris and Minnie (Erdman) Johnson, was born on February
15, 1958 in Belmond. He grew up in Belmond and graduated from Belmond High
School in 1976. David was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church,
where he was a lifelong member. After high school, David farmed and raised
cattle. In 1994, David started working for the post office as a mail carrier in
Clear Lake, Forest City and most recently in Belmond.
In 1987, David was united in marriage to Ruth Vorba. They were blessed with one
daughter, Erin in 1993. They later divorced.
David loved living and working on the farm. He enjoyed his cattle, Border Collie
dogs, and old tractors.
David gave the gift of tissue and organ donation through Iowa Donor Network.
David is survived by his daughter Erin of Waverly; sister Karleen (David)
Humphrey of Fountain Hills, Arizona; brother Dallas Johnson of Belmond; nieces
and nephews Angie Northamer, Mike Mennenga, Elizabeth Pike, Kyle Johnson, Seth
Johnson, Allen Kolpin, and Brandon Kolpin; and many cousins, other family
members, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harris and Minnie; and brother Richard
'Dick' Kolpin.
