David Johnson, JR.
David Johnson, 82, of Corwith passed away Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Westview Care Center in Britt.
David, the son of David and Dagmar (Sorensen) Johnson, was born June 14, 1923 on a farm north of Corwith. David attended country school and then Corwith High School graduating in 1942.
Following, graduation, David farmed with his father until he entered the United States Army in 1944, serving his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
David was united in marriage with Alice Gourley on June 14, 1953. The couple adopted a son Chris and made their home in the Corwith area. David farmed the home place and other land until he moved into Corwith.
In 1999, he entered Westview Care Center where he resided until the time of his death on May 7, 2006.
David is survived by his son Chris Johnson; two grandsons Jay and Ted; two sisters: Lillian Hauswirth of Corwith, Ella M. Rathbun of Michigan; two brothers: Jim Johnson of Britt, Jerry Johnson of California and nephew Bob Steigerwalt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alice on February 16, 1986; two sisters: Eleanor and Vivian; and two brothers: Paul and Ted.
