Dean Eugene Doughan, 56, of Britt passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his
home in rural Britt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December
11, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 139 3rd Street Southeast
in Britt with Fr. Jim Dubert and Fr. Paul Lippstock concelebrating. Burial will
be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at
1:30 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2017 followed by a Rosary. Visitation will be
begin immediately following the Rosary and will continue until 4:30 PM at St.
Patrick's Catholic Church, 139 3rd Street Southeast in Britt. Visitation will
continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday morning. Dean was
born August 15, 1961 at Hancock County Hospital in Britt to Allan and Frances
(Ptacek) Doughan. Following high school, Dean worked locally before relocating
to Louisiana. Later, work took him to Minneapolis. Wanting to move closer to his
family, Dean found employment back in the area and was most recently employed at
Winnebago Industries in Forest City. When living in Louisiana, Dean became
interested in body building and drag racing. He also had a love for attending
and competing in car shows. Dean was a gifted person who could do anything. His
specialty was making people laugh. He was quick-witted and loved by many. Dean
is survived by his parents, Frances and Allan Doughan of Britt; siblings Diane
(Bill) Mattoon of Britt, Dwight (Conni) Doughan of Britt, Duane (Lynda) Doughan
of Britt, Dan (Lynn) Doughan of Britt, Deb (Dan) Veldhouse of Britt, Doug (Dawn)
Doughan of Clear Lake and Darla (Randy) Yeakel of Kanawha; along with numerous
nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
