Dean L. Fouts, age 66, of Dows passed away Friday January 18, 2013 at his home in Dows. Memorial services for Dean L. Fouts will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday January 26, 2012 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 100 North Lee Street in Dows. Pastor Ron Nelson will officiate. Friends may greet the family of Dean L. Fouts from 11:00 A.M. until service-time on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Dean L. Fouts' name to the family. Dean, the son of Delmar and Thelma Murphy Fouts, was born December 6, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. Dean grew up and attended schools in Hansel and Hampton. Dean was employed in several capacities throughout his life. He worked at Bean Industries in Webster City for many years as a painter. Dean also worked painting homes and commercial businesses in the local community. Dean was united in marriage to Tina Phillips on June 4, 2005 in Alden, Iowa. The couple made their home in Dows. Dean enjoyed life and was forever the jokester. He loved spending time with his wife, Tina and his sons, Scott and Brian. However, his greatest source of joy came from spending time with his two grandchildren, Damon and Savannah Fouts, whom he adored. He cherished his grandchildren and the time he was able to spend with them. Dean loved cruising with Tina in his convertible, be it through parks or just around town. He was an accomplished and skilled outdoorsman who passed on his joy of hunting and fishing to his sons. Dean is survived by his two sons, Scott and his wife, Christina Fouts of Fort Worth Texas, Brian and his wife, Sunashi Fouts of Dows, his sister Jane Fouts of Des Moines, two grandchildren, Damon and Savannah, two step-daughters, Trisha Jackson and Kim Ostwinkle and numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, Tina Fouts in January of 2012 and his brother, Van.
