DeLaine Warburton passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics after a short illness. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 4:00pm at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West  in Britt, Iowa. A visitation will be held one hour prior from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Food and beverages will follow the service at Britt Municipal Building.  The family requests those in attendance to wear bright, colorful clothing. DeLaine was born on October 12, 1954 at Riceville, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Rosa (Pflieger) Warburton.  She was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Elma, Iowa and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa.  She was later baptized at Bethel Baptist Church in Britt in 1988. DeLaine graduated from Nora Springs-Rock Falls high School in May, 1973 and attended classes at NIACC. After graduation she was employed by E.F. Johnson in Clear Lake before moving to Dallas, Texas where she was employed by Aramark.  In October 2016 she retired from Eaton's in Belmond, Iowa after 20 plus years. DeLaine's pride was her family.  She enjoyed special lunches with her daughters and granddaughter and reacquainting herself with many friends after retirement.  She especially enjoyed traveling to several states the past year with special friends and family members. DeLaine is survived by her daughters, Trella Warburton of Mason City, Iowa and Barbara Ann Warburton of Denver, Colorado, and granddaughter, Savanna Warburton-Davis, Mason City Iowa; her brothers and sisters; John (Mel) Warburton of Janesville, Iowa; Terry (Stan) Sprung of Plymouth, Iowa; Ann (Jerry) Arndorfer of Oak Grove, Missouri; Martin Warburton of Mason City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents and sister Kathy Thoms (Bill).
