Delores
Daugard
Jul 29, 1928 — May 25, 2026
Delores G. Daugard, 97, of Britt passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at Westview Care Center in Britt surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Memorial services for Delores Daugard will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corwith with Pastor Lissa Kahl officiating. Burial will be in the Corwith Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Delores Gertrude Daugard was born on July 29, 1928, the daughter of William and Jeanette (Weber) Radil. She grew up in rural LuVerne, Iowa and attended the country schools.
Delores was married to Grover Daugard on May 23, 1947, in Fort Dodge, Iowa and they farmed in the LuVerne area. They moved to Britt in 1957 with their two children where they bought a farm with Grover’s parents.
Delores was more than willing to help out whether it was taking care of the chickens, tending a large garden, making sure Sandra and Roger attended school, church, and 4-H events and having hired hands, friends, and family gathered around her table. Her home was spotless and she enjoyed baking. She was also a caregiver to many.
Delores loved dancing to the Big Bands and Polka music. Whether at the Surf with Grover to see Big Bands or polka dancing with her sisters and their husbands. Taking care of her family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sitting on the floor with them building Lego blocks, playing with tractors and their equipment, coloring or just throwing the ball around.
She started working when Sandra and Roger were in school. First at the Milk Plant until it closed, then Winnebago Industries and finally at the Britt Hospital until she retired.
Delores is survived by her daughter Sandra and husband Alan Schoeneman, son Roger and Lynette Hanson, grandchildren Neil (Steph) Daugard, Ginger Nielsen and Brad Tapp, and Michael (Estelle) Piccolo, great-grandchildren Lynnley, Savannah and Everett Daugard and Stella Piccolo.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Grover, nine sisters and one brother.
