Deloris Ruth Johnson, 87, of Clarion passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the
Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.
Funeral services for Deloris Johnson will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at
11:30 AM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor
Bill Kem officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on
Friday, beginning at 10:30 AM.
Deloris Ruth (Nath) Johnson was born October 2, 1927 to Will and Louise (Rungee)
Nath in Perry, Iowa. She graduated high school before moving to Clarion to find
work, and eventually met the love of her life, Robert Johnson.
Deloris and Robert were united in marriage on February 21, 1954 at the First
Lutheran Church in Clarion, Iowa. The couple stayed in Clarion, making it their
home. One of their favorite ways to spend time together was taking car drives
to see the countryside. Deloris made her career as a beautician.
Deloris was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she participated in the
Women's Lutheran Church Circle and the First Lutheran Sewing group. She was
also a lifelong member of VFW Auxiliary Post 4244. Deloris enjoyed having
coffee with the ladies, playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles, and taking
shopping trips to Fort Dodge. She especially enjoyed spending time with her
friend Doris Bauman, where the two acted as Greeters at the Wellness and
Rehabilitation Center.
Deloris is survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and
friends.
Deloris is preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2011, her parents, two
sisters and one brother.
