Denise F. (Ainslie) Kalkwarf, 88, of Payson, Arizona and formerly of Belmond,
passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa,
Arizona.
Funeral services for Denise Kalkwarf will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July
14, 2020 at Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane South in Belmond, with Pastor
Leila Blackburn officiating. Burial will be at the Belmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on
Tuesday. Those in attendance will be asked to follow social distancing
guidelines and encouraged to wear a face covering.
Denise Fae, daughter of Isaac and Matilda (Stubbe) Ainslie, was born on May 25,
1932 in Allison, Iowa. She grew up in rural Butler county and graduated from
Alexander High School in 1950. When Denise was in her 50s, she attended beauty
school. Although she never worked in a salon, Denise gave her granddaughter her
first haircut.
Denise was united in marriage to DuWayne Kalkwarf on June 25, 1950 in Aredale,
Iowa. The couple made their home east of Belmond where they farmed. DuWayne and
Denise moved to Lake Cornelia in 1978.
Denise enjoyed traveling and driving along with DuWayne when they would deliver
Winnebago RVs. They loved traveling and camping between Canada and Arizona.
After DuWayne's passing, Denise would still travel and drive the RV to Arizona
for the winter.
Denise and DuWayne belonged to a Country Western Dance Club in Arizona and
Camping Club in Arizona and Iowa. They were involved with the camping club on a
local, state, and national level.
Denise is survived by two daughters Sharon (Norman) Bosshardt of Gilbert,
Arizona and Diane (Tim) Scott of Payson, Arizona; granddaughter Tracey (Mac)
Dolecki; great-granddaughter Linden Dolecki and another baby on the way; and
numerous cousins and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her husband DuWayne in 2001; son Gene Alan; and
parents Ike and Tillie Ainslie.
