Obituary


Dianne T. (Stecher) Dorsey, 77, of Clarion, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.

Dianne Therese, daughter of Louis and Acelia (Kottler) Stecher, was born on October 12, 1945 in Clarion. Dianne attended country school in rural Clarion until 7th grade. She graduated from Clarion High School in 1962.

In 1963, Dianne was united in marriage to Dennis Watts. The couple had two children, Denise and Duane. They later divorced. In 1974, Dianne was united in marriage to Leonard Watts. The couple had one child, Tyrell. Dianne welcomed Leonard’s children, VelRita, Lenny, Tracy, and Anita, into her life. After Leonard’s passing in 1988, Dianne was united in marriage to Tommy Dorsey in 1992.

Dianne worked as a beautician at Hotel Beauty Shop in Clarion, in the kitchen at the care center in Clarion, and later at Mosaic until she retired a few years ago.

Dianne loved being outside in her garden or doing yardwork around the house and sewing. She enjoyed collecting elephant figurines throughout the years. Her family was most important to her and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Dianne is survived by her husband Tommy Dorsey; children Denise (Mark) Schumacher, Duane Watts, Tyrell (Sara) Watts, VelRita (Russ) Drake, Lenny (Deb) Watts, Tracy (Denise) Watts, and Anita (James) Johnson; grandchildren Jody, Jennifer, Chase, Elizabeth, Adeline, Acelia, Tavian, Jared, Kally, Tabatha, Chance, Melissa, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Matthew; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several other extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Watts; parents Louis and Acelia Stecher; and two brothers Robert Stecher and John Stecher.
