Obituary


Doris Merien (Hinders) LeDuc Meier, 72, of Pasco, Washington, formerly of Britt, passed away September 11, 2001, at her home in Washington. Doris and her identical twin sister, Deloris, the daughters of Martin and Anna (Noble) Hinders were born August 5, 1929, in Wesley, Iowa.  The family later moved to Britt where she attended school, graduating from Britt High School in 1946. Doris was united in marriage with Robert Eugene LeDuc in Britt, at the family home south of Britt.  To this union two daughters were born, LaRae and Debra Dean.  Following Robert's death on August 22, 1956, the girls lived with their grandparents on the home place. Doris moved to Washington where she met Marion Meier.  The couple was married on September 10, 1960, and had a daughter Michelle Babbett. Doris loved trap shooting, camping, and spending time with her dogs.  She also enjoyed watching the wild ducks that gathered outside her home. Doris is survived by her husband Marion Meier of Pasco, Washington; mother Ann Hinders of Britt; three daughters: LaRae Hobscheidt and her husband, Jerry of Britt, Debra Dean Dirksen and her husband, Rick of Britt and Michelle Babbet Meier and family, David, Katherine, Anton, and Victor all of Pasco, Washington, grandchildren: Todd Hobscheidt and his family of Britt, Sheila Ferrell, her husband Rick and family of Knoxville, Iowa, Troy Hobscheidt, his wife Angie and family of Britt, Karrie Pringnitz, her husband Jerry and family of Garner; one brother Thomas Hinders and family of Ames, and great-aunt Mickey Noble of Britt. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Eugene LeDuc, August 22, 1956, father Martin Hinders, August 19 1975, identical twin sister, Deloris Dean, February 5, 1978, and Charles (June) Noble, December 29, 1972.
