Douglas John Cellan, 53, of Westfield' New York' formerly of Clarion' Iowa
passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield,
New York. Douglas John Cellan, son of John and Darlene (Hill) Cellan was born
February 1, 1953 in Clarion, Iowa. Doug was raised and educated in Clarion,
being a member of the first class to graduate from the new high school in 1971.
He attended college at Eagle Grove Community College. For several years he
worked for the Farmers Coop in Eagle Grove. He then worked for several trucking
companies. Doug was united in marriage to Jody Bjomson in 1977 in Eagle Grove,
Iowa. They raised two children and later went their separate ways. Doug was an
avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed riding his Kawasaki Vulcan Normad, bowling, golfing,
basketball, and was an lowa Hawkeye fan. He donated his tissue and organs to
help others. Surviving Doug are his Fianc6, Maureen DeJohn and her daughter'
Joelle Westfield, New York; daughter, Jaime (Mike) Bliesmer of Dunnell,
Minnesota; son, Ryan Cellan, of Estherville, Iowa; his mother, Darlene Cellan,
of Clarion, Iowa; sisters, Deb (Mike) Senger of Clarion, Iowa, Dani (Jim)
Kepler, of Boone, Iowa; brother David Cellan of Iowa Falls, Iowa; aunt and
uncle, Norma and Ken Hill of Dows Iowa; granddaughter, Hannah Bliesmer; several
nieces, nephews; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
father, John; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
