Obituary


Earl Cramer, 91, of Clarion passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center in Clarion.

Funeral services for Earl Cramer will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor John Wilson and Mr. Stan Watne officiating.  A private family burial will take place at Blairsburg Cemetery in Blairsburg.

Visitation for Earl Cramer will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday.

Earl Wesley Cramer was born on December 16, 1922 to Ernest and Jennie Cleo (Chapman) Cramer on a farm north of Blairsburg, Iowa.  He attended rural school, and graduated from Blairsburg High School in 1941.

He was married to MaeEtta Mogle on October 6, 1946 in Iowa Falls.  They settled on the home farm until his retirement in 1994.  The couple later moved to Clarion in June of 2004.

Farming was Earl’s life.  He was both a 4-H and Farm Bureau member.  He also served on many committees at the United Church of Christ Congregational in Blairsburg, where he was a life long member.

Earl is survived by his wife MaeEtta of Clarion, Iowa; children William Cramer (Ruth) of Clarion, and Nancy Greenwood (Kurt) of Altoona, Iowa; grandchildren Angela Dorenkamp (Matt) of Huxley, Jayson Cramer (Jamie) of Goldfield, Brandon Greenwood of Altoona, and Kaitlyn Greenwood of Altoona; great-grandchildren Avree Anderson and Makenna Anderson, both of Huxley and Gage Cramer, Meah Cramer, Chase Cramer and Gunner Cramer, all of Goldfield; sister-in-law Helen Cramer of Webster City; along with numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents and brother Charles Cramer.
