Obituary


Edward F. Louk, Jr., 48, of Kanawha, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2003, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Edward Franklin Louk, Jr., was born June 2, 1954, at Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Edward and Margaret M. Harris Louk, Sr.  He was raised and educated in Baltimore.  Following his education, Ed worked for various jobs in Baltimore before working at Giant Foods for over seven years.

In October of 1994, Edward and his wife, Diane, moved to Kanawha, Iowa, to be closer to family.  Ed initially worked for DeCoster Farms in Clarion, and then spent a short time working for Garner Workshop in Garner.  For the last six years he has spent his time being employed by the Pizza Ranch in Belmond.  Ed also was a Globe Gazette carrier in Kanawha for over7 years.

Edward loved to spend his time riding his bicycle, and even would ride it to work if the weather permitted.  He enjoyed watching wrestling and baseball on television, and he like to put together model cars, and do word puzzles.  While he was in Baltimore, Edward was a Sergeant of Arms in the Sons of the American Legion.

Those who will cherish his memory are his wife, Diane of Kanawha, Iowa; a son, Scott Wade, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Kanawha, Iowa; three grandchildren, Vincent, Layla, and David Wade; his "mewmaw" or grandmother, Margaret Harris of Baltimore, Maryland; an aunt, Elsie Creighton of Baltimore, Maryland; a sister-in-law, Drema Jones and her husband, Dan of Kanawha, Iowa; and four nieces and nephews, Danielle, Kayla, Chris, and Logan Jones, all of Kanawha, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
