Edward Ray Godfredson, 75, of Britt passed away Friday, December 28, 2001, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Edward Ray Godfredson, the son of Nels M. and Martha (Isenberger) Godfredson, was born September 12, 1926, at Stanley, Wisconsin. He moved with his parents to the Burt area in 1932 and graduated from Grant Consolidated High School. Edward served with the Air Force during WWII. Following his discharge, he returned to Swea City and worked on various farms. In 1947, he began his own farming operation.
Edward was united in marriage with Evelyn Rose Hoppe in 1953 at Fairmont, Minnesota. The couple farmed until 1966 at which time they moved to Algona and in 1982, they moved to Britt where they have since lived. Ed has been an over the road long distance truck driver since 1967.
Survivors include his wife, Eveln; son Eugene Nels Godfredson and his wife, Pauline of Crawfordville, Iowa; two daughters: Sandy Rose Easterday and her husband Neil of Jewell, Iowa and Barbara Ann Harding and her husband, Gregg of North Branch, Minneasota; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother Cecil Eugene Godfredson of Armstrong.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Cynthia Kay in 1959.
