Edythe Marie Severson, 93, of Clarion, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005 at the USA Health Care Center in Clarion.
Edythe Marie Severson the daughter of Jess and Cora (Eckersly) Whitman was born on September 4, 1911.
She was raised and educated in Clarion, graduating from Clarion High School.
In 1937 Edythe was united in marriage to Stanley Severson in Waterloo, IA. After Stanley passed away in 1939, she lived with her parents in Clarion and raised their two children.
Edythe enjoyed working, reading, playing cards, and watching the television, staying up until Johnny Carson was over and then going to bed. But Edythe’s family and friends were where she found her most enjoyment.
Edythe was a member of Eastern Star and the United Presbyterian Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Judy Rumley and her husband Donald of West Des Moines; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Gunderson of Houston, TX; sister-in-laws, Bergel Whitman of Clarion, and Barbara Whitman of Lexington, IL.
Edythe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; and one son, John J. Severson.
