Ella Lorene Ostercamp, 87, passed away Saturday, September 20, 1995 at the
Westview Care Center in Britt, Iowa.
Ella, the daughter of Walter and Sena (Jorgensen) Jacobson, was born June 23,
1908 at Britt, Iowa. She attended school in Britt, graduating from high school
in 1926. She was a teacher in the rural schools until her marriage to Henry
Schutjer on May 31, 1930. They made their home on a farm in rural Britt until
retiring to Britt in 1951. To this union, three children were born. Henry
Schutjer passed away in 1959. She married John Ostercamp in 1964 and he passed
away in 1978.
Ella was a member of the Evangelical Free Church and the Missionary Society.
She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family, music,
flowers, gardening and home making.
She is survived by her children, Beverly and her husband, Paul Wirtz of Crystal
Lake, Iowa; Donald (Jim) Schutjer of Apple Valley, Minnesota; Richard Schutjer
and his wife, Judy of Hazel Green, Wisconsin. Also her step-children, Rev.
Larry Ostercamp and his wife, Sandy of Meridan, Iowa and Donna and her husband,
LeRoy Saveraid of Iowa Falls, Iowa; one sister, Florence Rensink of Alexandria,
Minnesota; six grandchildren: Vicki Wirtz Ibarra, Robyn Schutjer Peterson, Barry
Schutjer, Christine, Steven and Cynthia Schutjer; six step grandchildren:
Matthew, David, Rebecca and Sarah Ostercamp, Curtis and Megan Saveraid; two
great grandchildren: Bret and Derek Ibarra.
Precededing her in death were her husbands, her parents, four sisters: Cora
Ricketts, Margaret (Gertie) Holck, Lillian Hansen and Elnora Dobbins; three
brothers: Charles, Clarence, Arthur (who died in infancy) Jacobson and one
grandchild, Mark Wirtz.
