Obituary
Ernest C. Michelson, 96, of Kanawha, passed away Saturday May 27, 2006 at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha.
Ernest, the son of Severt and Ellen Marie (Soma) Michelson, was born December 25, 1909 on the family farm near Kanawha. He attended a country school and two years of high school in Kanawha.
On March 15, 1938 Ernest married Oviedia Omvig at the Kanawha Lutheran Church Parsonage with the Rev. M.N. Peterson performing the ceremony. The couple was blessed with one child Lois Jean who passed in June of 2000.
He lived his entire life in the Kanawha area where he farmed until retiring in 1975. Ernie and Oviedia moved into Kanawha Community Home on August 5, 2003 due to failing health.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 68 years Oviedia; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Tracy Abbas Lillard and husband Dave and their daughter Katie of Van Meter and Dan Abbas and his wife Monica and their children Jacob and Briana of Kanawha; brother Harold Michelson and his wife Marie of Kanawha and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Lois; four brothers: Sam, Norris, Gildfor, and John; one sister Melva O'Bannon.
