Obituary
Esther Rosa Foley, 84, passed away Friday, January 23, 1998, at the Wydncrest Nursing Home in Clinton, Iowa.
Esther, the daughter of John and Ida Marie (Ludwig) Bonnstetter, was born November 9, 1913, in Corwith, Iowa. She attended school in Corwith graduating from Corwith High School.
On November 22, 1934, she was united in marriage with Jean Edward Foley at Cambridge, Illinois. The couple farmed in the Corwith and Crystal Lake areas and owned and operated the Crystal Milling Company from 1953 - 1978. Jean passed away June 7, 1980.
Ester was a member of the Crystal Lake United Methodist Church and Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. She enjoyed her family, sewing, cooking, baking cookies, gardening, crafts and helping others.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Hjelmaas and her husband, Robert of Clinton; a grandson, Reid Hjelmaas and his wife, Judy of Grayslake, IL; a granddaughter, Angela Griffith and her husband, Aaron of Mt. Zion, IL; four great-grandchildren: Caitlin, Kristen, Drake and Lauren; sisters-in-law, Rita Gillette of Marshalltown; Lelia Bonnstetter of Charleston, IL; Willadel Foley of Cape Neddick, MA; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
Precededing her in death were her parents, her husband, a infant daughter - Janet Foley and four brothers.
