Obituary


Ethel Lucille Van Dusseldorp, 80, passed away Thursday, March 21, 1996, at the Westview Care Center in Britt.

Ethel, the daughter of Norris and Florence (Paine) Tripp, was born September 10, 1915, in Kanawha, Iowa.  She attended school in Kanawha, graduating from Kanawha High School.  She then attended Cedar Falls Teachers College and taught in the Wright County country schools.

On December 31, 1934, she was united in marriage with Peter Van Dusseldorp at Clark, South Dakota.  They farmed south of Britt.  After Peter passed away in 1984, Ethel moved into Britt.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and belonged to the Charity Rebekah Lodge and various other groups in the church.  Ethel loved living on the farm.  She enjoyed spending time fishing, reading and being outdoors.  She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Ethel is survived by her son, Gary and his wife, Linda of Mason City, Iowa; two grandsons, Rick and his wife, Shelly of Mason City, Iowa, and Jim of Mason City, Iowa; two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Heather; one sister, Lorraine Falk of Mora, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers - Earl, Leslie, and Stanley; one sister - Hattie Tripp.
