Obituary


Eunice M. Wyatt, 78, passed away Sunday August 11, 1996, at her home in Britt, Iowa.

Eunice, the daughter of Hans Martin and Eleanora Christina (Frederickson) Madson, was born July 22, 1918 on a farm north of Britt, where she lived much of her life.  She attended Britt Schools, Britt Jr. College and graduated from the Iowa State Teacher's College (UNI).  She married Richard P. Wyatt of Marshalltown on June 27, 1948.

After many years of teaching in country schools, Clear Lake, Marshalltown and Corwith-Wesley schools, she retired from the profession in 1982.

After her retirement, she enjoyed the fellowship of several local organizations such as Silver Stars, the American Legion Auxiliary, and her favorite, the United Methodist Womens' Sewing Group.  Besides quilting she loved nature, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles and "Jeopardy". She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Britt.

She is survived by her children Linda Wyatt of Des Moines; Ross Wyatt of Britt; Terry Wyatt of Forest City; Becky Beeler of Britt; two grandchildren, Chas and WIllie Beeler of Britt; a son-in-law, Charlie Beeler of Des Moines.  She is also survived by three sisters, Rhoda Glenn Ludeke and her husband, Lyle of Stanardsville, Virginia; Beulah Rumeliote of Mason City; Grace Sible and her husband, Si of Princeton; sister-in-law, Carol Madson of Britt; and a special cousin, Jeri Beshey and her husband, Jim of Glencoe, Minnesota.  Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive Eunice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1983; her parents and her brother, Holger Madson.
