Evelyn E. Denger, 90, of Dows passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at Franklin
General Hospital in Hampton.
A private family service will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 with interment at
Fairview Cemetery in Dows.
Evelyn Esther Beisner, daughter of Fred and Esther Beisner, was born on March 3,
1930 in Dows. She was raised and educated in Dows – first in Vernon #5 Country
School and graduating from Dows High with the class of 1948.
On February 17, 1948, Evelyn was united in marriage to Stanley George Denger in
Dows. They lived and worked in Dows before beginning to farm. They moved to the
Williams area for a few years but returned to Dows when they purchased their
farm home. They moved into Dows in 1975 when their son returned to farm. Due to
health reasons, Evelyn went to live at Country View home in Hampton in 2018.
Evelyn was a member of the Vernon Friendly Club, Jolly Mothers Club, Dows
Ambulance Service, Vernon Lutheran Church, Sunday School superintendent, loved
gardening and flowers, and sewing. She obtained her EMT license and taught First
Aid to others to become EMTs. She volunteered when and where she could. Others
comforts were important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include son Marion (Cindy); daughter Monica (Raymond) Johnson;
grandchildren Robin (Jake) Nolin, Vicky (Jack) Fitzgerald, and Robert Denger;
and great-grandchildren Hunter and Oakleigh.
