Evelyn Godfredson, 81, of Britt passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at Westview Care Center in Britt.
Graveside services for Evelyn Godfredson will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Harrison Township Cemetery in Swea City with Pastor Todd Hartsock officiating.
Evelyn Rose Godfredson, the daughter of Henry and Frederica Oltmanns Hoppe was born March 8, 1935, at Truman, Minnesota. She grew up in the Truman/Fairmont, Minnesota area, and attended Fairmont High School. She later worked for the Sweet Shop and the Fairmont canning factory.
Evelyn was united in marriage with Edward Godfredson in 1953 in Fairmont, Minnesota. The couple farmed until 1968 at which time they moved to Algona, Iowa. In 1982 they moved to Britt, Iowa where she has since lived.
Survivors include; a son, Eugene Godfredson of Revere, Missouri; two daughters, Sandra Easterday of Albia, Iowa and Barbara Harding of Almelund, Minnesota. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward in 2001, infant daughter, Cynthia Kay in 1959 and 3 brothers.
