Obituary


Fannie Rockow, 97, passed away July 26, 2014, at the Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center in Clarion.

Fannie was born on April 19, 1917, in rural Kossuth County near Buffalo Center, Iowa, the daughter of William and Helen (Meinders) Kardoes. Fannie was a member of the Ramsey Reformed Church in German Valley, IA. She later transferred to First Lutheran Church in Dows, IA
On January 23, 1941, she married Frederick Rockow at the Ramsey Reformed Church, German Valley, IA. After their marriage, the couple made their home near Galt. Together they had two sons, Gerald and Richard. Fred both farmed and drove truck and Fannie enjoyed caring for her children and her home.
She is survived by her two sons, Gerald Rockow of Belmond and Richard (Twyla) Rockow of Belmond; two grandchildren, Sam (Janet) Rockow of Belmond and Larry Rockow of Middleton, Idaho; two great-grandchildren, Janey (Rockow) Gochenouer of Belmond and Jeremy Rockow of Belmond; three step-great-grandchildren, Tori, Jake and Caleb Gochenouer; and many nieces and nephews.

Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frederick; her brother, Anko Kardoes; her sisters, Vergie Beenken and Diane Trask, and one in infancy; and also her great-grandson-in-law Jay Gochenouer.
