Frances Elizabeth Brooks, 72, passed away Sunday, May 17, 1992 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa. Frances, the daughter of Charles and Frances (Horback) Miller, was born June 18, 1919.  She received her education and graduated from the Woden High School.  She was employed at Olson's Grocery at Hutchins, until her marriage. On July 19, 1943, she was united in marriage with Walter Brooks at Britt.  The couple made their home on a farm northwest of Britt.  Following Walter's death, she moved into Britt.  She was employed at Britt Tech and later, at We-3 Inn. Frances was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter, who passed away August 10, 1975; two sisters and two grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters and two sons: James and Brooks of Garner, Iowa; Phyllis Smidt and her husband Warren of Cumberland, Wisconsin; Colleen Cameron and her husband, Dale of Loveland, Colorado; Janice Brooks of Algona, Iowa; Dean Brooks and his wife, Linda of Britt, Iowa; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; two sisters: Anna Stenzel of Wenona, Illinois and Cecilia Stiwell of Ottawa, Illinois; one brothers, Fr. Charles Miller of Metamora, Illinois.
