Obituary


Frances Helen (Richards) Larson, 103, died Friday, June 30, 2006 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion, following a short illness. Mrs. Larson was born in Clarion, Iowa, on November 19, 1902, the next to the youngest of seven children to Arthur and Alice Richards. She received her high school education in Clarion and graduated with the Class of 1921. After high school she attended Grinnell College. On September 14, 1927, she was united in marriage with Charles M. Larson of Clarion, Iowa. To this union a daughter Alysia was born. Her husband preceded her in death in February, 1966. During her lifetime, she was a member of the Frist Congregational Church in Clarion for 94 years, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she also served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of Women’s Fellowship. She loved to go fishing in Minnesota with her husband, watch sports, the outdoors, her dog, Miss Scarlet, and traveling to visit relatives in other parts of the country. She will be lovingly remembered by her two nephews; Jeffery R. Lewis and wife Shelley of Des Moines, Iowa, and Alan J. Lewis and wife Lee Anne, of Ankeny, Iowa; a niece, Betty Davis of Sylmar, California; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Alysia; three brothers and three sisters.
