Francis "Bud" Edward Steinlicht, 72, passed away, Wednesday, April 20, 1994, at
the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Francis, the son of Henry and Gertrude (Ennen) Steinlicht, was born May 5, 1921,
in Belmond, Iowa. He attended country schools in Kanawha. He was baptized and
confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Francis was united in marriage to Betty Gerdes and the couple made their home in
Waterloo where Francis worked for John Deere. They then moved to a farm near
Woden. Francis was then united in marriage to Sue Smith and the couple farmed
north of Britt until 1983 when Francis retired. They then moved into Britt.
Francis loved to spend his free time hunting and fishing.
Survivors include four daughters: Carolee Hare, Pensacola, Florida, Susan
Steinlicht, Ankeny, Iowa, Anna Steinlicht and Jennifer Steinlicht, Britt, Iowa;
one son, Jason Steinlicht, Britt, Iowa; three sisters: Ione Lesher, Norwalk,
California, Alice Thompson, Chester, Iowa, Beverly Everett, Wesley, Iowa; two
sisters-in-law: Connie A. Steinlicht, Britt, Iowa, and Connie L. Steinlicht,
Mason City, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Duane Holmes, Nora Springs, Iowa; three
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Henry, Jr. and Robert, a
sister: Shirley, three brothers-in-law: Dale Thompson, John Lesher and Tom
Everett.
