Francisco "Frankie" Tovar

 Francisco “Frankie” Tovar, 76, of Crystal Lake passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 4:00 pm at the WCLT High School with Reverend Dennis Miller officiating. Burial will be at Crystal Lake Township Cemetery in Crystal Lake. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 5-7 pm at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt and will continue on Saturday from 2-4 pm at the high school.

Francisco Delgado Tovar, son of Apolonio and Maria (Delgado) Tovar, was born on March 9, 1935 in Del Rio, Texas.

On September 18, 1999 he was united in marriage to Joyce L. Helm at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Frankie enjoyed attending all kinds of sporting events, barbecue’s, Mexican dances and music.   His best buddy was "Oreo" their cat who adopted them a few years ago. You could always hear Frankie singing or humming.

Those left to cherish Frankie’s memory are his wife Joyce; three sisters: Dolores Martinez of Del Rio, Texas, Amelia Villela of Crystal Lake and Alicia (Tony) Lopez of Grand Island, Nebraska; two brothers: Alfredo (Becky) Tovar and Jose (Rosa) Tovar all of Del Rio, Texas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and a lot of students from WCLT over the years.

 Preceding Frankie in death were his parents; siblings: Paul, Patrick, Jesse and Ralph; along with several nieces and nephews.
