Obituary


Frank Malcolm Engstrom, 72, passed away Friday, October 2, 1991, at Belmond Community Hospital.

Frank, the son of Oscar and Annette (McFarland) Engstrom, was born December 21, 1919, on a farm near Renwick, Iowa.  He received his education in the Boone Township Country School and graduated from Renwick High School in 1937.

On January 23, 1943, he was united in marriage with Shirley Engh at the Kanawha Lutheran Church.  The couple moved to a farm in Boone Township where they have since made their home.

Frank was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and also a director of Renwick Coop Elevator Board.  He enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two daughters: Bonita and her husband Robert Harle of Kanawha; Betty and her husband Howard Hughes of Humboldt; and a son Michael and his wife Kay of Goldfield; six grandchildren: Brian Harle and wife Kathi of Kanawha; Bruce Harle of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Barbara Scaggs and husband Jon of Mountain Home, Indiana; Rodney Hughes and wife Kathi of DeSota, Iowa; Rhonda Meyer and husband Dan of Ft. Rucker, Alabama; and Robert Hughes of Goldfield, Iowa, four stepgrandchildren Leonard and Cheryl Steig; Rog and Kim Steig; Shelley Steig; Terry and Lisa Steig, six step great-grandchildren; one sister Rita Mae Rossman and husband, Refine of Renwick, Iowa.
